Kevin was previously the CTO for Broadcast and Distribution at Channel 4, responsible for the provision and technical strategy for Channel 4 broadcast transmission services, media delivery, platform distribution, post production, and content management. This includes IT based digital media workflows and asset management of material for all linear and non-linear platforms. He was also responsible for the research, participation, and implementation of the associated relevant technical standards, and an advocate of common standards in a world where IT and broadcast technology are rapidly converging.
He was also a founder member of the UK Digital Production Partnership, (DPP) which was formed in 2010. As their technical lead he was responsible for the conception and implementation of the common file based AS-11 DPP standard for programme delivery to the UK broadcasters, which was adopted across the UK production community and by the broadcasters in October 2014. This involved working closely with the post production facilities, equipment and systems vendors, international standards bodies, and broadcasters.
He is currently working as a technology consultant in the Digital Media, Production, Broadcast and Distribution sectors. This includes working with Broadcasters, Production Companies, Systems Integrators and Technical Standards bodies.
